Sailormoon Neo: Afterword By: Janelle Jimenez (miaka@bishounen.org) Official Webpage: http://www.sailormoon-millennia.net/ [http://bishounen.org/smmillennia/] 3/1/99 Well, my friends, that's the conclusion of Sailormoon Neo, my second fanfic (and what seems to be the most beloved.) Writing SMNeo was a pleasure, but often times a pain. However, there was nothing more thrilling than knowing that people loved what you did for relaxation. It's been great fun for me to create these characters and have them run around a prefabricated world. A common question asked is among fans was, "Why are all your characters either weak or not dedicated to the team? Why is it that the only ones who are [Mercury and Saturn] are the ones that are hardest to work with?" Well, the answer is I love the idea of antiheroes. I'm disgusted by cookie- cutter characters who are perfect and have only slight imperfections. Normal people are not this way. Hence, we have the ultimate antihero, Shino Seishi. She's the saviour of all, but she's in no way perfect...one may even say she's borderline evil. We have characters like Neo V who aren't confident with themselves, who hate themselves. They're all pretty screwed up, if you ask me. No one in this story is perfect, and the more beautiful the character was in the story, the more problems they had. Except maybe Neo Mars, she was fairly normal and so was Neo Pluto. If you haven't already reread Sailormoon Neo, I suggest it. I littered the entire fanfic with symbolism and foreshadowing for events 15 episodes later. Certain things I always had planned, like Neo Sailorsaturn dying, so you'll see alot of allusions to that. You may also catch puns, like Kasumi looking at Romeo & Juliet. You may also catch a few mistakes and paradoxes ^^; Perhaps the greatest pun is that the fanfic is split up into two parts called SEI & SHI which stuck together is SEISHI. Interesting, isn't that? :) Kind of symbolizes how the true Messiah wasn't who you'd expect it to be... Also, Sailormoon Zodiac is being rewritten and Sailormoon Genesis is going to be out in April 9, 1999. So for you die-hard fans, don't worry...that's ONLY a month ;_; There's also several people out there who REALLY REALLY loved the Neo Senshi, so much they're writing spin-off stories about them...maybe that would interest you? It actually rather saddens me that the fic is over, I grew to really love Seishi and Kasumi as if they were real anime characters or real manga characters. Maybe I'll write a short OVA about them...or maybe I'll write a little movie that takes place between Sei & Shi. Well, I don't have anything left to say, except thank you for the very bottom of my heart for reading all 26 episodes of Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon Neo. :) --Janelle Jimenez miaka@bishounen.org
